Organization!

LETS GET ORGANIZED!!

We have found several different ways to organize our coupons, so we will share a couple of our favorite/easiest ways.
Brandy has chose to organize her coupons this way. It takes a little longer, but makes it so fast to cut the coupons:

She gets 5 ads every Sunday

She then carefully separates each sheet and puts all page 1s together, all page 2s together and so on..

After she separates them all she labels them all with the ad it came from (RP,SS,PG) and the date, so this one is SS 5/17

She then will staple all page 1s together, all page 2s together and so on..

This is how she stores them. She bought a crate for about $5 from Walmart and some filing folders. She labels each folder for every ad and puts them in by date.

I organize mine so that its fast and simple, but then it takes just a couple extra minutes to cut my coupons then it does Brandy.

I take my 5 subscriptions and leave them all put together. I label the top page with the date.

I then label my folder with the same date.

I put them in the folder

Then I just stick them in my crate by date

Now one other way to organize them is like this:

Take your subscription, label them and put them in a sheet protector

Then just put them in a 3 ring binder and your all ready to go.

Coupon Lingo

As we post on here we will be abbreviating a lot of words so here is our coupon lingo:

1) The most commonly misunderstood phrase on a coupon in “one per purchase.” What this actually means is one per item. You are purchasing each item, are you not? So each item, no matter how many you have, is a purchase. It does NOT means one per transaction. If it meant that it would say so. Cashiers and even many managers misunderstand this phrase. If yours do be sure to politely ask them to check with their corporate office. Even better, volunteer to call them yourself (and have the number in your wallet or purse).

2) When your coupon says “one per transaction,” it means that you can only use one when you are purchasing one or more items whether they are the same or not. You may use another if you pay for the first transaction and then do another transaction. As a matter of fact I have done as many as four transactions consecutively using identical “one per transaction” coupons in each with no problem.

3) “One per order” means the same as “one per transaction.”

4) B1G1 or BOGO - Buy One Get One FREE

5) BLINKIES - These are found in stores in a box most often the box will have a red blinking light on it

6) Cat or Catalina - Coupons that come from a box next to the CRT machine

7) DND - Do Not Double

8) Double Coupon - Means the value of the coupon is doubled at the register

9) FAR - Free After Rebate

10) IP - Internet Printable Coupon

11) MIR - Mail In Rebate - you have to mail it to a clearing house to redeem

12) OOP - Out Of Pocket

13) OYNP - On Your Next Purchase

14) P&G - Proctor & Gamble Sunday insert coupons

15) PEELIE - coupon's found on product that are sticky unless removed carefully

16) RP - Red Plum Sunday Insert Coupons

17) SS - Smart Source or Sunday Insert coupons

18) TEAR PAD - A pad of refund forms or coupons found hanging from a store shelf or display

19) WYB - When You Buy - additional purcahse is required to redeem

I know, I know a lot of abbreviations, but it will make your life a lot easier if you understand them all.
